The Penguins of Don Quijote

Don Quijote is a discount store chain based in Japan (although they have locations in other countries). Their main mascot is a blue penguin named Donpen.  There is also a pink penguin named Donko who is "shrouded in mystery" according to their website. Don Quijote (commonly reffered to as "Donki") sells various merchandise featuring their mascots, including stuffed toys, keychains, socks, underwear and even credit cards. There was also a crossover between Donpen and Hello Kitty featuring each character cosplaying as the other.

Each region housing a Don Quijote store has its own personalized Donpen mascot. The Osaka Donki stores are represented by Donpen wearing a takoyaki costume; the Nara Donpen is dressed as a deer; and of course the Hawaii Donpen wears an Aloha shirt and holds a ukulele. You can see all of the different mascots on the Don Quijote website, but if you find yourself in Osaka, check out the Don Quijote location in Namba. There is a (quite enjoyable) Ferris wheel built into the store facade, and while waiting in line you'll be able to view a display of all the different mascots. Since you're there, you can buy some socks.
